Scholarship Overview

The Global Study Awards were started and are supported by International Student Identity Card (ISIC), StudyPortals and British Council IELTS. The aim of these awards is to motivate more students to study abroad for their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and to explore new countries, cultures and languages. Studying abroad has a profound impact on a student’s life as it allows him/ her to take his/ her career to a new level, and to understand new cultures and way of living. Students must note that the Global Study Awards cannot be used to pursue academics domestically. The maximum individual award is for £10,000 that would be paid directly to the higher education institution where the applicants plan to study. In case the tuition fee is below the maximum fund amount, the remaining funds would be allocated towards their living costs for a maximum of 52 weeks, starting from when they first registered at the institution.

Global Study Awards Requirements

This merit-based scholarship will help the promising students to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate degree that will help them bring about positive change. International Student Identity Card (ISIC), StudyPortals and British Council IELTS look for certain qualities in the applicants. Some of the qualities and requirements are given below:

  • Candidates must demonstrate they have potential to contribute to society through their academics
  • Candidates must possess a strong commitment of developing their career
  • Candidates must have an interest in enhancing intercultural understanding and exchange

Global Study Awards Eligibility

Candidates must note the following eligibility criteria:

  • Applicant must be 18 years or above on the date of start of academic program
  • Applicant must have appeared for IELTS exam and must have received an  official IELTS Test Report Form (TRF)
  • Applicant must possess a valid International Student Identity Card (ISIC) and/or International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) at the time of application
  • Applicant needs to pursue a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course
  • An acceptance letter of the academic institution must be provided
  • An applicant must write a short review of his/ her study experience as Study Portals

  • The Award prize will be applied toward the cost of tuition fees in the first instance, paid directly to the Higher Education Institution that the successful candidate will attend
  • If tuition fees are below the maximum individual award fund of £10,000, the remaining funds may be allocated per diem for living costs for a maximum of 52 weeks starting from when the student first registered at the higher education institution

Eligibility

  • Interview - Strong applicants will be shortlisted and invited for an interview (via Skype) prior to the final winning selection
  • The Global Study Awards will be available to prospective students in all countries worldwide
  • Applicants:
    • must be 18 years or over on the study programme start date
    • must have taken an IELTS test at a British Council centre, and receive an official Test Report Form (TRF) issued by the British Council after the 1st of June 2017
    • must have a valid International Student Identity Card(ISIC) and/or International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) at the time of application
    • must be planning to enrol on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme abroad in the autumn term 
  • The Global Study Awards is designed to support highly motivated, talented individuals who can actively demonstrate:
    • their potential to contribute to society through their studies;
    • a strong commitment to developing their career;
    • their sincere interest in increasing intercultural understanding and exchange
