Scholarship Overview

Graduate Entrance Research Scholarships is applicable to only Masters Degree students. This is a Merit Based scholarship. Graduate Entrance Research Scholarships award up to CAD 15000 on a one time basis to various international students. This scholarship will be offered to Varies depending upon the university student every year. To be eligible for the award, applicants must have completed their Bachelor degree and passed the 12th grade. International students seeing to avail this scholarship need to appear for English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, PTE. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible students must have the intention to enrol in a thesis or a project based degree have a Graduate Admission GPA of 3.67 or greater, and an alignment with UNBC's research priorities.
  • TOEFL- score of 90 or higher, with not less than 20 in each of the Reading, Listening, Writing or Speaking components
  • IELTS- Academic score of at least 6.5 overall, with not less than 6.0 in any of the four modules
  • PTE- overall score of 65, with not less than 60 in each of reading, writing, listening, and speaking
  • Duolingo- score of 105 or higher

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Three assessment reports (letters of reference) submitted directly to UNBC from the referees.
  • Official transcripts (one copy) from all post-secondary institutions attended.
  • Statement of Academic Interests (letter of intent).
  • Official English Language Test Scores

If applicants to a UNBC Master's or Doctoral program meet the eligibility requirements they will be automatically considered for this scholarship. There is no application required as applicants will be assessed on their application to UNBC. Students will find out if they have received an award after they receive notification of their admission decision
