Scholarship Overview

University of Cincinnati offers the Graduate Incentive Award scholarship. Every year, the International Students Office of University of Cincinnati awards scholarships to degree-seeking students who have specified financial needs. Note that a large portion of the scholarship funds come from International student tuition. Graduate Incentive Award scholarship is applicable for Masters Degree. The award is applicable for the courses like Master of Science in Biological Sciences. If we consider the amount of the Graduate Incentive Award scholarship, then it varies each semester. The applicants should review the scholarship application in order to fully understand the availability and amount for that particular semester. To qualify for the award, candidates must have completed the Bachelor degree and passed the 12th grade. Foreign students wishing to apply for this scholarship must take English proficiency exams such as TOEFL, IELTS and PTE.

• It covers all or part of a student’s tuition and fees
• Awards can only be guaranteed for a maximum period of one academic year, and renewal of a university graduate award is not automatic but to get the scholarship renewed students must maintain all of the required eligibility requirements in their offer letter
• Full tuition scholarships cover a maximum of 18 credits per semester. Students registered for more than 18 credits in a semester will be billed tuition and general fees on a per-credit-hour rate for each credit over the 18

Eligibility

• Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a college or university with at least a B average (3.0/4.0 system) in relevant undergraduate coursework or otherwise give evidence of promise that is judged satisfactory by the admitting program and the Graduate School
• Department is expected that the students will be familiar with the fundamental principles of biological science. Usually, students have majored in biology or one of its subdisciplines
• Majors in chemistry, mathematics, computer science, or physics are acceptable, with a strong minor or concentration in biology
• Students also should have completed:
  • chemistry through organic or biochemistry
  • one year of physics
  • one year of mathematics through calculus

• GRE: The GRE General Test is no longer required. The Biology Subject Test is also not required.
