GREAT Scholarshipss is offered by the Queen's University Belfast to international students. GREAT Scholarships is available for Indian students who want to study Masters Degree in the UK at the Queen's University Belfast. Every year, the university selects a certain number of candidates from all the received applications and offers them scholarships based on their academic profiles. The maximum scholarship that a student can receive is GBP 10000 at Queen's University Belfast. The fee needs to be paid in full, the scholarship amount will be given to students once they start their study program.

GREAT Scholarships is available for the Masters Degree. We have listed below the Masters Degree Programmes of Queen's University Belfast that are eligible for the scholarship:
MSc in Advanced Architectural Design. To be considered for this award, applicants must have a Bachelor degree. International students seeing to avail this scholarship need to appear for English proficiency tests like IELTS and PTE. As part of the selection process, students must attend an interview. Students must submit the following documentation to be considered for the scholarship:

Eligibility

  • To apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
    • Be a citizen or permanent resident of India
    • Be available to start your academic studies at Queen’s by the start of the academic year in September
    • Meet the eligibility criteria of the selected programme given below
  • Applicants must hold:-
    • A recognised qualification acceptable to the University which is equivalent to a UK 2.1 Honours degree in Architecture. A 2.2 Honours degree or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University may be considered alongside a very strong design portfolio and relevant professional experience
    • Normally an assessment equivalent to 60% or above in their (first degree) final year major design project
    • International applicants must submit an architectural design portfolio
    • Successful completion of Bachelor degree with:
      • First Division Pass and a minimum final average of 60% (in the traditional system), or
      • CGPA 7.5 out of 10 on the 10 point scale; or 7.0 out of 10 if this equates to 'Good' in the institutional grading system, or
      • 4.0 out of 6.0/B/Good in the 6-point system
  • IELTS: 6.5 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 6.0 in Speaking and Listening and a minimum of 5.5 in Reading and Writing
  • PTE Academic: No specific cutoff mentioned
  • ELP waiver: 70% in English Language in Standard XII in lieu of an IELTS Academic test, if awarded by one of the following Indian examination boards:
    • All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Delhi Senior School Certificate Examination) awarded by the Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE
    • Indian School Certificate (Year 12) awarded by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
    • Higher Secondary Certificate (Year 12) awarded by the following State Boards: Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal

  • Applicants must include the names and contact details of two referees, normally academics, who are familiar with your undergraduate and/or postgraduate studies
    • If they have taken a higher degree or postgraduate course, one of their referees should normally be from that institution
    • If they have been away from higher education for some time, they may use an employer as one of their referees
  • Copies of an official Degree/Diploma Certificates, for the qualification(s) already completed
  • Degree transcripts for all completed periods of study (undergraduate level and above)
    • If the applicant's degree is still in progress, he/she must provide a transcript of the results achieved to date. This can be requested from his/her University
  • Certified translations, if the applicant's original documents are not in English
    • If he/she does not have translations at the time of application, please forward by email to intl.student@qub.ac.uk when available
  • Proof of English Language proficiency
  • Upload a single pdf portfolio of your best architectural design (personal, non-group) work to date
    • The pdf should be no more than 5MBIn addition
  • Applicants may prepare a three minute optional video in relation to one of the following questions: What is architecture for you? As a designer, what are you curious or ambitious about? What would be your dream project?
    • Please upload your video on Vimeo or YouTube, adjust your privacy settings, and provide the link on the cover page of your portfolio
