  • Students of all nationalities and years of study are eligible to apply and be considered for a sport scholarship, on both undergraduate and postgraduate and degree programmes, as well as Graduate Apprenticeships at Heriot-Watt University. 
  • *sports must be included within the 2024 Summer Olympics/Paralympics, 2026 Winter Olympics/Paralympics, to be eligible
  • Other sports considered on a case-by-case basis

  • Review of Applications: Applications will be reviewed at three stages throughout the year 
  • Outcomes announced:  
  • Applications submitted by 5th Feb, 2025 will receive an outcome between 24th Feb, 2025 and 14th March, 2025. 
  • Applications submitted by 1st May, 2025 will receive an outcome between 26th May, 2025 and 5th June, 2025. 
  • Applications submitted by 16th June, 2025 will receive an outcome between 16th July, 2025 and 23rd July, 2025
  • Any applications submitted after 16th June, 2025 will be considered on a case-by-case basis and we will endeavour to provide an outcome within 4-6 weeks. 
  • *Application outcome is determined by receipt of national sport governing body reference and/or confirmation of professional status. Please ensure your sport scholarship application is submitted with up-to-date reference contact details. 
  • *Please email Sports Scholarships if you are applying for a January, 2025 start course.
