Hira and Renu Ahuja International Graduate Scholarship are offered at University of Waterloo to those international students who are pursuing a Masters Degree. Along with the Hira and Renu Ahuja International Graduate Scholarship application. The eligibility of the students to qualify for Hira and Renu Ahuja International Graduate Scholarship would solely depend on the applicant’s admission to University of Waterloo Masters Degree, his/her aptitude for an overall contribution towards University of Waterloo community and of course the academic achievements.

  • The value of the award will be determined by the income generated by the Fund each year. The goal is to provide at least one Award valued up to $10,000.
  • The value and/or number of awards may change from year to year. Master's students may receive this award for a maximum of two years and Doctoral students may receive it for a maximum of four years provided they maintain good academic standing (minimum 80%) and continue to remain registered full time in their program.

  • Graduate students registered full-time in a Master's or Doctoral program in the Faculty of Engineering are eligible for this scholarship
  • Selection to be based on demonstrated academic excellence (minimum 80% cumulative average in their current program or over the last two full-time academic years)

Preference will be given to following candidates:

  • Selection will be based on the following preferences:
    • International students who hold a valid Canadian study permit and have graduated from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)
    • Permanent Residents of Canada who have graduated from an IIT
  • Preference  will be given to candidates who identify as women, who fulfill the above criteria, and wherein women are underrepresented
