IAA Geoffrey O' Byrne White Memorial Scholarship is offered by the Dublin City University to international students. IAA Geoffrey O' Byrne White Memorial Scholarship is available for students from any country who want to study Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in the Ireland at the Dublin City University. Every year, the university selects 2 candidates from all the received applications and offers them scholarships based on their academic profiles. The maximum scholarship that a student can receive is Euro 5000 at Dublin City University. The fee needs to be paid in full, the scholarship amount will be given to students once they start their study program.

IAA Geoffrey O' Byrne White Memorial Scholarship is available for the Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree. We have listed below the Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree Programmes of Dublin City University that are eligible for the scholarship:
MSc in Management (Aviation Leadership),BSc in Aviation Management. To qualify for the award, candidates must have completed the Bachelor degree and passed the 12th grade. International students seeing to avail this scholarship need to appear for English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS and PTE. Students must submit the following documentation to be considered for the scholarship:

Eligibility

Applicants mujst meet the course specific requirements:

  • MSc in Management (Aviation leadership)- A 2.1 Honours degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent international qualification along with 3 years of work experience in the aviation industry. Applicants who have achieved a 2.2 Honours degree may still obtain a place, or An equivalent professional qualification (ATCO, CPL) along with 3 years of work experience in the aviation industry or Applicants with more than 5 years’ relevant work experience in the aviation industry may be considered, or Recent graduates with less than 3 years’ relevant work experience in the aviation industry, or with work experience in a different industry, who have the equivalent of a first class Honours degree may be considered
  • BSc in Aviation Management-  
    • Standard XII 80%
    • Maths & English 80%
    • Specific subject requirements 70-80%
  • Candidates are required to meet following criteria:
    • Candidates should hold an honours primary degree (H2.1) or an equivalent professional qualification (ATCO; CPL); combined with 3 years of work experience in the aviation industry.
    • If an applicant does not hold a primary degree, but has sufficient and relevant working experience (more than 5 years in the aviation industry), a special case for acceptance may be submitted.
    • Recent graduates (with less than 3 years relevant work experience or with work experience in a different industry) who have the equivalent of first class honours degree will be considered.

English language requirements:

  • IELTS: Overall score of 6.5 or above, DCU Business School additionally requires 6.5 in speaking and writing.

  • TOEFL: Total Score of 92. DCU Business School additionally requires all section scores 21 or above.

  • PTE Academic: Overall score of 63 with no less than a score of 59 in any component. DCU Business School
    additionally requires 63 in speaking and writing.
  • Your English language certificate must be awarded  within two years of the start date of your DCU programme.

  • Please submit an essay with an upper word count limit of 500 words outlining why you are the best candidate for this scholarship and why you want to study aviation to businessscholarships@dcu.ie

Application requirements for postgraduate students:

  • Interested candidates must supply the following to DCU Business School:
  • Student resume/CV
  • A letter of application (maximum 500 words) to include:
    – The candidate’s motivation for applying to this scholarship and some background information on the candidate
    – Career goals within the aviation industry and how this scholarship award will help the candidate to advance those goals
    If you have not already applied to DCU through the PAC system, you’ll also need to submit two letters of reference and your academic transcripts.
