International Distinction In Education Award is a type of scholarship which is offered by the University of Iowa . International Distinction In Education Award is awarded to Bachelors Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Merit Based scholarship will be given on a yearly basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is USD 15000. . Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship. Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English language examinations as well as standardised exams like TOEFL, IELTS and SAT.   • The scholarship amount ranges from $2,000 - $15,000 per year
  • The student must maintain continuous full-time enrollment (12 semester hours) at the University of Iowa and maintain a minimum 2.50 UI GPA, continue to pay nonresident tuition for renewal
  • Available for up to eight semesters or until you receive your bachelor’s degree (whichever comes first)

  • Applicants must have passed high equivalent to U.S. grades of B or a 3.00 GPA
  • Prerequisites: English, mathematics, science, social studies, and world language
  • English Language requirement:
    • TOEFL: Overall score of 80, with no part score under 17
    • IELTS: Overall score of 6.5, with no part score under 6.0
    • Duolingo: 110 or higher
  • International students entering the fall (August) 2024 term will be considered for merit scholarships. Scholarship selection is competitive, and is based on holistic review of all application information, high school marks/grades, and ACT or SAT scores
