LSBU values the academic contribution that international students bring to the University. Through the International Merit Scholarship, LSBU aims to recognise and reward exceptional talent enabling academically strong candidates to take their studies to the next level with them.

The International Merit Scholarship offers students pursuing taught programmes with outstanding academic profiles a fee reduction of  £2,000.

  • Students will recieve fee reduction of  £2,000
  • International Merit Scholarships will be given in the form of a fee reduction at enrolment, provided that the student is able to do the following: 
    • Pay the first instalment of tuition fees.
    • Produce the required documents to confirm academic/English language qualifications.
    • Produce their passport to confirm nationality status and hold the required right to study.

Eligibility

Applicants with folllowing qualifications are eligible to apply:

  • for postgraduate programs:
    • Honours Degree from a prestigious Indian university: 53-55% or higher
    • Honours Degree from a recognised Indian university: 55% or higher
    • Honours Degree from a recognised international university: equivalent to UK Bachelor Degree Second Class Honours or higher
    • UK 2.1 Hons Degree (or overseas equivalent - as determined by LSBU) or above
  • for undergraduate programs:
    • Indian Standard XII: minimum average of 55-65% or higher (depending on exam board and LSBU course applied for)
  • Hold a valid and current offer of a place for a full time taught undergraduate degree or taught postgraduate degree programme beginning in September 2024 or January 2025
  • Have achieved the scholarship’s academic pre-requisites in the qualification being considered for entry
  • Be classified as an Overseas student at enrolment stage. The programme must be a minimum of one year in duration and taught by LSBU.
  • Be a self-funding student who is not in receipt of any other official sponsorship
  • Pay the required tuition fee deposit by the specified deadline, if applicable
  • Must meet english language requirements i.e IELTS Overall score: 6.0 (with no component below 5.5) and PTE Overall score: 52 (minimum score required in each skill area is 51)

Terms and conditions:

  • If at any stage in the process of assessing and awarding a scholarship, documents are found not to be genuine, the scholarship will be immediately withdrawn. The university will not be held liable for this action.
  • The programme of study must be at least one year in duration and the tuition fee must be a minimum of £7,500 per year.
  • Students in bad financial standing will not be eligible to claim the scholarship.
  • Students in receipt of any other LSBU scholarship or overseas institution discount will not be eligible for the International Merit Scholarship. For students in receipt of an International Merit Scholarship, the 5% Early Payment Discount will still apply.
  • The scholarship is not transferrable against any tuition fee deposit, if applicable.
  • International Merit Scholarships are not available to continuing students who are already enrolled at LSBU.
