Scholarship Overview

The University of New Mexico offers the International Undergrad Amigo Scholarship . Every year, the International Students Office of The University of New Mexico awards scholarships to degree-seeking students who have specified financial needs. Note that a large portion of the scholarship funds come from International student tuition. International Undergrad Amigo Scholarship is applicable for Bachelors Degree. The award is applicable for the courses like BBA in Finance,BBA in Human Resource Management,BBA in Marketing Management,Computer Science, BS,Computer Engineering, BS,Electrical Engineering, BS,Civil Engineering, BS,Mechanical Engineering, BS. If we consider the amount of the International Undergrad Amigo Scholarship , then it varies each semester. The applicants should review the scholarship application in order to fully understand the availability and amount for that particular semester. Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English language examinations as well as standardised exams like TOEFL, IELTS and SAT. The following documentation is required from students in order to apply for the scholarship: LOR, Financial Documents and Official Transcripts.

  • Applicants must have:-
    • 3.5 GPA on a US scale in upper secondary/ high school coursework ;or  
    • 3.0 GPA on a US scale AND either an ACT score of 26 OR SAT score of 1240 ;or 
    • 3.25 GPA of with at least 30 credits of university-level transferable coursework
  • Other eligibility:-
    • Admission to a full-time, undergraduate program (Online Programs are not eligible.) 
    • Non-immigrant visa status (Preference is given to student visa holders- F1 or J1.) 
    • No prior attendance at UNM in the current application degree level

Preference will be given to following candidates:

Additional Information

Renewal Criteria

  • The scholarship may be renewed for up to four years for freshman applicants and two years for transfer applicants
  • Students must maintain enrollment in 15 new credit hours (no repeated courses) and achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA each semester
