Johnson Scholars Award at the Santa Clara University are designed to provide financial assistance to talented students from all over the world who wish to pursue their studies. This Merit Based scholarship covers tuition of candidates. This is a Merit Based scholarship offering waiver against the tuition. This scholarship offers to contribute towards the course. Students from abroad must take English proficiency exams like TOEFL, IELTS in order to be eligible for this award.

  • Applicants must have passed high school 
  • High school course requirements- history and social sciences, english, mathematics, laboratory science, language other than english, visual and performing arts
  • Must meet satisfactory academic progress
  • Indexed to tuition increases
  • Coordinated with federal, state and other University aid
  • Recipients selected at time of admission
  • Courses will count towards fulfilling degree requirements
  • If degree requirements have been fulfilled, adjustments will be made to award
  • International students are eligible for consideration
  • Not reserved for Gap Year students

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Official high school transcripts (grade nine through the most recently completed term)
  • One Academic Teacher Evaluation (through Common Application)
  • Secondary School Report Form (through Common Application)
  • Mid-Year Report due by the end of January—only Regular Decision applicants or candidates deferred from Early Action (through Common Application)
  • Proof of English Proficiency
  • SCU Financial Resource Statement

No separate scholarship application is required. Candidates are selected from the undergraduate, first-year student admission application pools. Admission applications must be submitted through the online Common Application process. 

All international applicants are required to complete a Financial Resources Statement proving the student or their family are able to cover the total cost of the first year attendance before their application will be considered for admission.

Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. No separate application is needed.
