Kennedy-Nehru Memorial Scholarship for the Promotion of International Understanding is offered by the Iowa State University . Kennedy-Nehru Memorial Scholarship for the Promotion of International Understanding is awarded to Bachelors Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Need Based scholarship will be given on a semester basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship. Bachelor degree is required for applicants to be eligible for this scholarship.

• The scholarship is available for all UG and PG programs
• Students participating in Optional Practical Training (OPT)/Post-Completion Academic Training (AT) /Intensive English and Orientation Program (IEOP) are not eligible

Eligibility

• Applicants who have been at ISU in the current degree-seeking program for one full academic year and achieved a minimum GPA of 2.5 are eligible
• Applicants must be in F-1 or J-1 status
• Applicants must have completed 25 credit hours at Iowa State University
• Applicants must have contributed to the promotion of international understanding while at Iowa State University

Preference will be given to following candidates:

• Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated financial need
  
  • ISSO defines financial need as an unexpected or unavoidable change in finances that affects a student's ability to be successful in their studies (ex. serious illness, family emergencies, political upheaval, currency devaluation, etc.)

Application Process for this scholarship

Documents Required:

• Applicants are required to submit a letter explaining their financial need and how they will use the scholarship funds (500 words maximum)

Application Process:

• ISSO will send an e-mail each semester to students when they are able to apply for the ISSO scholarships (Fall: mid-September and Spring: mid-February)
• During the application submission timeframe, students may submit their scholarship application in Cystart
