KPMG Women in Accounting prize is offered by the University College Cork to international students. KPMG Women in Accounting prize is available for students from all countries who want to study Bachelors Degree in the Ireland at the University College Cork. Every year, the university selects 2 candidates from all the received applications and offers them scholarships based on their academic profiles. The maximum scholarship that a student can receive is Euro 1000 at University College Cork. The fee needs to be paid in full, the scholarship amount will be given to students once they start their study program.

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Students apply for this award in conjunction with the KPMG Year 2 Outstanding Scholar Awards (please see here for further detail).
  • Students must provide a personal statement of 500 words outlining their success in academic life, community initiatives, sports, and work experience.
  • Students must also provide a separate statement of up to 100 words outlining how, through their actions, they are an effective role model for other women pursuing a career in accounting.

Additional Information

 If a scholarship holder withdraws from the programme for which s/he has registered or fails to continue throughout the year to meet the attendance and other requirements for the programme, including examination entry, s/he may be required to repay to the College the whole or part of the scholarship.  

Selection process:

  • Interviews will take place with a panel of shortlisted students. The judging panel will include a representative from KPMG and the Department of Accounting and Finance. Students who have been able to combine a high level of personal development with strong academic results, and who can demonstrate they are an effective role model, will be highly regarded.  Successful applicants will be notified shortly after the Semester 2 exam results are made available.
