Scholarship Overview

Liberal Arts & Professional Studies International Undergraduate Leadership Scholarships is applicable to only Bachelors courses. This is a merit based scholarship. Liberal Arts & Professional Studies International Undergraduate Leadership Scholarships award up to USD 3,000 year to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship are 50 each year. To be eligible for this scholarship students need to appear for TOEFL, IELTS and PTE.Students must have passed 12th and to be eligible for this scholarship. All international students irrespective of their Nationality can apply for a Liberal Arts & Professional Studies International Undergraduate Leadership Scholarships. If an applicant has already received a free bursary or has applied for another scholarship offered by the university, then he/she is not eligible for this scholarship. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

• Fifty (50) of these scholarships are awarded each year, valued at $10,000 per year. The scholarship is renewable for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study if you maintain high academic standing (B GPA) each year, which would bring the total funding to $40,000 over four years
• The LA&PS International Student Entrance Scholarship will be automatically awarded to international students entering the Faculty with top academic standing of 90% or higher. Eligible candidates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) between 90% to 94.9% will receive $2,000; candidates with a GPA of 95% or higher will receive $3,000.

Eligibility

Qualification requirements:

• Completion of one of the following:
  • All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
  • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
  • Indian School Certificate (ISC)
  • Intermediate Examination Certificate
  • Pre-University Examination Certificate
• Grade XII graduation with minimum overall average of 60% is required to be considered for most programs - minimum 5 academic courses
• Some programs require a higher average
• Minimum academic standing of "B+" average grade required.
• Community service, art or sport achievement or other individual achievement required.
• Prerequisite courses should not be below a grade of 55%.
• English language requirements i.e TOEFL score 88, IELTS overall score 6.5 and PTE score 60. 

Application Process for this scholarship

• Copy of academic transcripts
• Proof of english language skills 
• 1 Letter of recommendation from your high school teacher or school counsellor is required.
• Applicants must first apply to study for an undergraduate LA&PS program starting Fall 2023 and submit their application to the university
• Applicants do not need an offer of admission to apply, only the 9-digit York reference number, which they will receive within 5 business days of applying to York
