Scholarship Overview

Macquarie University South Asia Scholarship is awarded for pursuing Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering,Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechatronic Engineering,Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering,Bachelor of Engineering (honours) in Software Engineering at Macquarie University. A student can get a maximum amount of AUD 5000 and the scholarship amount will be given semester only. The scholarship amount can be used for paying tuition. To be eligible for this scholarship students must have appeared for 12th grade. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka
  • Meet the Academic and English requirements for a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree which is longer than one session in duration
  • Be accepted into a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree commencing in 2021 or 2022
  • Accept the Letter of Offer and pay the commencement fee by the Acceptance Deadline

Academic requirement:

  • Applicant must have passed standard XII from ISC/CBSE/State Boards with a minimum of 70-74%
  • Recommended studies: Mathematics Extension 1 or Mathematics Extension 2, plus Physics, Software Design and Development, and Mathematics Advanced
  • Applicants must satisfy the English language proficiency with one of the following:
    • TOEFL - Overall 83 with a minimum of 12 in listening, 13 in reading, 18 in speaking, and 21 in writing
    • IELTS - Overall 6.5 with no band less than 6.0
    • PTE - Overall 58 with 50 in each sub-section
    • ELP Waiver - Applicants may satisfy the English language requirements if they have completed the senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC

  • Students need to maintain their enrolment throughout their course in a full?time study load which is 8 standard units per academic year
  • Meet the University’s Academic progression policy
  • This scholarship is for on-campus study only (available for students studying online and/or offshore as a result of COVID-19)
  • Students receiving a fully sponsored Government scholarship or any other scholarship towards the Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate coursework degree will not be eligible for this scholarship. Unless otherwise approved by Macquarie International Scholarships
  • Students are not eligible if they are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand or hold permanent residency in Australia
  • If students withdraw from their program before completion, they may be required to repay any scholarship previously awarded to them during their study period at Macquarie University based on the outcome as decided by the scholarships and grants committee
