Scholarship Overview

Graduate Entrance Scholarship are offered at University of Waterloo to those international students who are pursuing a Masters Degree. This is a Merit Based Scholarship, which is provided to only 4 students. Graduate Entrance Scholarship are valued at CAD 3500 for 4 students who qualify from University of Waterloo. Also, the Graduate Entrance Scholarship is a one time tuition reducing scholarship, offered in the first year of Masters Degree only. Applications for Graduate Entrance Scholarship at University of Waterloo are filed separately. To be considered for this award, applicants must have a Bachelor degree. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS and PTE. Students will require the following documentation to apply for the scholarship: LOR and CV. Along with the Graduate Entrance Scholarship application. The eligibility of the students to qualify for Graduate Entrance Scholarship would solely depend on the applicant’s admission to University of Waterloo Masters Degree, his/her aptitude for an overall contribution towards University of Waterloo community and of course the academic achievements.

Eligibility

  • A student must be entering 1st yr of Master Degree
  • A student must hold 90% or above average mark in selected tax courses in an undergraduate degree
  • Students admitted to the full-time stream of the Master of Taxation program who have completed a four-year honours undergraduate degree within the past five school years may be considered for this award
  • Students must have completed two advanced-level tax courses as part of their degree requirements
  • IELTS: 7.0 With writing: 6.5 and speaking: 6.5
  • TOEFL: 90 With writing: 25 and speaking: 25
  • PTE: With writing: 65 and speaking: 65
  • An interview may also be required
  • GMAT may be required
