Scholarship Overview

The MBA Scholarship for Columbia University is offered by Columbia Business School. CBS awards partial-tuition scholarships to qualified, domestic and international, students. These scholarships are given on a need basis and certain named scholarships have a merit component or have specific criteria designated by the donor. Complete details on applying the scholarships are made available to students after admission.

MBA Scholarship by Columbia Business School ranges in awards from $10,000 - $30,000 for qualified students. The amount of scholarship awarded depends on the funds available. Sometimes the amount can be even higher than mentioned above, it all depends on the availability of funds. Almost half of the students who apply for an MBA scholarship get the scholarship with an average scholarship award being approximately $20,000. The scholarship award is generally renewed for the second year of study. Although the percentage of students getting scholarships is high, this does not mean, there is a guarantee of getting a need-based scholarship.

For a need-based MBA scholarship, Columbia Business School evaluates the student’s eligibility. To assess a student’s eligibility some factors are considered such as Cash, Savings, Investments, Money Market, IRA and Retirement Account, CDs, Trust Funds, Real Estate Equity, GI and Social Security Benefits, Income of Student and Spouse, Other Familial Resources, Income Tax Refunds, Sponsorships from Companies, and Prior Educational Debt Levels. The scholarship application begins in early September and final results are declared by early April next year.
