  • Applicants must have passed high school
  • One of the following is required:

  • Students who are missing an eligible course in one of subject groups 2, 3 or 4, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission
    • For admission to Fall (Sept) 2024 and later: Minimum average of 60% in the required subject areas, with a passing grade in each subject.
    • For admission to Spring (May) 2024 and earlier: Minimum overall grade of 50% in the required subject areas. This will normally be considered equivalent to no more than two grades less than 50% and a “pass” in all 5 subject areas.
  • To be considered for these scholarships, a student must be eligible to pay the full international undergraduate fee, must register for at least 9 credit hours in each of two semesters in their first academic year at Memorial University of Newfoundland, should normally have fewer than 31 credit hours of transfer credits and meet scholarship standing (comparable to that prescribed for Newfoundland and Labrador and Canadian applicants).

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
  • This scholarship will be awarded by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards on the basis of a recommendation from the Director, Office of Student Recruitment.
  • Students will automatically be considered (not a guarantee to receive) for an entrance scholarship (if you meet the eligibility criteria). That means, no additional application is necessary.
  • Students will be notified if they are successful in receiving a scholarship.
