Merit Scholarships (International Students) at the York College of Pennsylvania are designed to provide financial assistance to talented students from all over the world who wish to pursue their studies. • The scholarship ranges between $2,000 and $9,000 (over 4 years) and is awarded based on the student’s secondary school academic achievement
• The scholarship award is for eight full-time semesters, excluding summers and study abroad, toward one undergraduate degree

Eligibility

• The scholarship is open to first-time full-time resident students seeking F-1 student visa status applying for an undergraduate degree
• Applicants must have a minimum 3.2 GPA or equivalent to be considered
• Applicants must qualify for an I-20 certificate of eligibility for F-1 status
• Recipients must maintain a 2.75-grade point average and live on campus housing in order to continue receiving the scholarship

Application Process for this scholarship

• At least one letter of recommendation
• Statement of Purpose of 250 to 650 words responding to one of the prompts below
  • Describe a class that was particularly challenging for you and what you did to meet that challenge. Describe, in detail, the subject matter. Consider the actions you took to be successful in that class.
  • Describe, in detail, a class that engaged your imagination. What did you like most about that class?
  • Describe the ways in which you believe college course work will be different from high school. Include the steps that you will take to remain on track for success in a college environment.

• By filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students are automatically considered for all forms of aid from York, on top of generous merit scholarships
• Sttudents will be notified of their award level after being admitted to York College of Pennsylvania

Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. No separate application is needed.
