Scholarship Overview

MES-York Planning Alumni Committee (MYPAC) Award is applicable to only Masters courses. This is a merit based scholarship. MES-York Planning Alumni Committee (MYPAC) Award award up to CAD 1,000 year to various international students. 1 scholarship is awarded to student each year. All international students irrespective of their Nationality can apply for a MES-York Planning Alumni Committee (MYPAC) Award. If an applicant has already received a free bursary or has applied for another scholarship offered by the university, then he/she is not eligible for this scholarship. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

Eligibility

Qualification requirements: 

• Recipients must be full-time students at York University (registered in at least 18 credits).
• Students must be in the final phase of their program (MES III) with a student membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI).
• Selection will be based on the following criteria: 
  • Extent of the student's service and commitment to the planning community at York University.
  • Career objectives.
  • Academic performance.
  • Reference support.
  • Incomplete or ineligible applications will not be considered.

Application Process for this scholarship

How to apply: 

• Step One: Prepare a one-page letter outlining your interest interests in planning; involvement and activities at York University, in the planning profession and community; and career objectives.
• Step Two: Contact a faculty member to be a reference. They must submit this Reference Assessment Form to complete your application. Be sure to inform of them of the name of award you are requesting a reference for and its deadline. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
• Step Three: Complete the award application by April 19
