Scholarship Overview

Music Masters Scholarship is applicable to only Masters courses. This is a merit based scholarship. Music Masters Scholarship award up to one time to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship Varies each year. To be eligible for this scholarship students need to appear for IELTS and PTE.Students must have passed 12th and Undergraduate degree to be eligible for this scholarship. All international students irrespective of their Nationality can apply for a Music Masters Scholarship. If an applicant has already received a free bursary or has applied for another scholarship offered by the university, then he/she is not eligible for this scholarship. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award applicants must:

• Holders of a Bachelors degree of three or four years in duration from a recognised university
• Holders of Bachelors degree will normally be expected to have achieved 55% - 60% or higher for 2:1 equivalency, or 50% - 55% for 2:2 equivalency depending on the awarding institution.  
• English language requirements i.e IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any band and PTE Academic 67 with no less than 64 in all four skills
• Applicants must be applying to a music postgraduate program and fulfill all the requirements. 

Application Process for this scholarship

• Copy of academic transcripts 
• Proof of english language proficiency
• Personal statement 
• Two valid referennce 
• Applicants must have completed an application to study a relevant course at Birmingham.
• Once applicants have made an application to study, they will need to complete the relevant online scholarship application form 
• Application will then be processed as follows:  
  • Graded and ranked by School Panels
  • Each School will recommend their top applicants for an award
  • A College Panel consisting of: CAL Graduate School Deputy Director (Chair) and School Heads of Postgraduate Taught (or representative) will meet to consider the School recommendations and to award any additional scholarships (depending on funding available) through a ranking process.
