Scholarship Overview

Music Theatre, Theatre and Dance Scholarships is offered by the The University of Tampa. This scholarship is for pursuing a Bachelors Degree, The Music Theatre, Theatre and Dance Scholarships is given yearly to a multiple students each year. This scholarship awards a maximum of USD 3500 per student and is used to cover tuition. Under this scholarship some students get their full tuition fee waived. To be eligible for this grant, applicants must have taken the 12th grade. Students from abroad must take English proficiency exams like TOEFL, IELTS in order to be eligible for this award.

Eligibility

• Applicants must have passed high school with minimum GPA 3.0 
• Applicants must hold an experience in high school or community theatre productions
• Applicants must demonstrated ability in stage movement/acting/singing
• Applicants must be majoring in musical theatre, theatre or dance
• Applicats must maintain a GPA of 2.8 or above during the courswork

Application Process for this scholarship

• All auditions for musical theatre, theatre and dance will be accepted digitally or in person at an official admissions Open House date.
• All audition material should be submitted using your SpartanStart Portal (you will receive access to your SpartanStart Portal once you submit an application to UT).
• Applicants can choose to use a live accompanist or a CD/track
• Musical theatre audition requirements:
  • A 32-bar cut of one ballad from a Broadway musical
  • A 32-bar cut of one up-tempo song from a Broadway musical
  • One monologue, not to exceed 1 minute 30 seconds - preferably from a play

• Theatre audition requirements:
  • One contemporary comedic monologue (one to two minutes long)
  • one contemporary dramatic monologue (one to two minutes long)
  • one classical monologue (one to two minutes long)

• Dance audition requirements:

  • 10-minute ballet barre to include combinations in: pliés, tendus/degagés, rond de jambe, frappé, fondu/ developpé. Across the floor: battements front & side, pirouettes (parallel or turned out), grade jeté/ saut de chat
  • 1- to 1.5-minute modern or contemporary solo
  • 1- to 1.5-minute solo in another style of your choice (optional)
