Scholarship Overview

Ontario Graduate Fellowships is a type of scholarship which is offered at University of Waterloo to those international students who are pursuing a Masters Degree. This is a Merit Based Scholarship, which is provided to only maximum number of students, depending on the University. Ontario Graduate Fellowships are valued at CAD 24000 for maximum number of students, depending on the University who qualify from University of Waterloo. Also, the Ontario Graduate Fellowships helps students in reducing tuition on a trimester basis, offered in the first year of Masters Degree only. Applications for Ontario Graduate Fellowships at University of Waterloo are filed separately. Bachelor degree is required for applicants to be eligible for this scholarship. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English language examinations as well as standardised exams like TOEFL, IELTS and GRE. In order to apply for the scholarship, students need the following documents: LOR and CV. Along with the Ontario Graduate Fellowships application. The eligibility of the students to qualify for Ontario Graduate Fellowships would solely depend on the applicant’s admission to University of Waterloo Masters Degree, his/her aptitude for an overall contribution towards University of Waterloo community and of course the academic achievements.

Eligibility

  • The fellowship will be awarded to graduate students on the basis of the student's achievement and potential as a graduate student, as manifested in the student's existing academic record and in his or her graduate application for admission
  • Applicants must have honors Bachelor's degree (4-year) or equivalent
    • Minimum 75% overall standing in a four-year Honours Bachelor's degree or equivalent
