Outstanding Graduate Artist Award at the University of Nevada, Reno are designed to provide financial assistance to talented students from all over the world who wish to pursue their studies. This Merit Based scholarship covers tuition of candidates. This is a Merit Based scholarship offering 500 USD majorly covering the tuition. This scholarship offers to contribute towards the course. The number of awards offered are 2 each year. There are several eligibility criteria for the scholarships. For instance, Candidates should also have significant professional experience and good leadership qualities. All applicants must have successfully earned an accredited undergraduate degree.

• One $500 award is made to the Outstanding Graduating Graduate Artist and one scholarship is given to the Outstanding (continuing student) Graduate Student Artist

Eligibility

• Applicants for this award must be registered, full-time graduate students (minimum 9 credits) in good academic standing at the time of application.
• Members of the GSA Executive Council and Awards Committee, and persons involved with the judging process of any GSA awards, are ineligible to apply.

Application Process for this scholarship

• Applicants are required to submit their online application packet by 11:59 p.m. PST on the due date (Please check the GSA Events Calendar and Scholarship webpage for dates).
• In addition to the application, there will be a studio visit with the guest juror.
• In order to be considered, students must sign-up for a scheduled studio visit with the guest juror. (Date and time to be determined and announced)
• During the studio visit, the graduate candidate must show their current body of work and discuss their motivations with the juror.
• Judging criteria- A guest juror will evaluate the candidates and decide the winner, and the juror's decision is final. Candidates will be evaluated based on artistic merit, demonstration of skill, ability to verbally communicate the conceptual and formal motivation of the artwork, and future promise to succeed as a professional artist.
