  • The Paid Placement Guarantee (‘Guarantee’) is intended to assist international coursework students at Federation University Australia (the ‘University’) who are enrolled in courses which require mandatory placements for course completion.

  • At Federation, paid work placements are integrated into your study through our Co-operative education model (‘Co-op’). With our Paid Placement Guarantee, eligible students receive a minimum payment for the placement hours required in your course –$10,000 for undergraduates and $5,000 for postgraduates
  • There are 6 placement units within your course:
    • First Year , Semester 2 
    • Second Year , Semester 1 
    • Second Year, Semester 2 
    • Third Year, Semester 1 
    • Third Year , Semester 2
  • The payment of the guarantee will be distributed equally over the life of the course (in this case 5 x $2000 payments).
  • IMPORTANT: Payments will be made after census date each semester/term and students need to remain enrolled in the unit at census date each semester/term to receive payment.
  • Where there is two mandatory placement units in a semester only one will attract a scholarship payment.
  • Once the value of the guarantee has been reached no further payments will be made.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for the Guarantee, international students must meet the following criteria:
    • Enrolling as a commencing student in 2025 (not a study abroad, exchange or online student) in one of the eligible coursework courses that requires mandatory placement (described below).
    • Enrol in the mandatory placement units as part of an eligible coursework course.
    • Possess a valid VISA which permits you to study in Australia for the duration of the eligible coursework course.
    • Meet the additional terms and conditions as set out below

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Prepare the following documents to submit with your application:
    • Certified copies of degrees, diplomas or certificates issued by your educational institution(s)
    • Certified copies of your full academic transcripts issued by your educational institution(s)
    • Certified translations of documents that are not in English, as well as certified copies of the documents in the original language
    • Proof of English proficiency, such as academic IELTS results or equivalent
    • Certified copies of your passport and current Australian visa (if you hold one)
    • Your Confirmation of Enrolments (CoEs) from your studies in Australia (if any)
    • Research Proposal Form, Additional Details Form, or Application for Audition/Interview, if relevant
    • Any other relevant documents you would like the university to consider, such as letters from schools or employers, a statement of purpose or your CV/resume
    • Evidence of your permanent residency/citizenship, if you were born overseas
    • Evidence of any name change between the results/qualifications you provide and the name you are applying in

Scholarship Application

Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. No separate application is needed.
