Scholarship Overview

Physics Sports Scholarship is applicable to only Bachelors courses. This is a merit based scholarship. Physics Sports Scholarship award up to Pound 800 one time to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship Varies each year. To be eligible for this scholarship students need to appear for IELTS and PTE.Students must have passed 12th and to be eligible for this scholarship. All international students irrespective of their Nationality can apply for a Physics Sports Scholarship. If an applicant has already received a free bursary or has applied for another scholarship offered by the university, then he/she is not eligible for this scholarship. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award you must:

• Holders of the Indian Standard XII will be considered for entry to the first year of our undergraduate degree programmes. 

  • A*AA = 90% ISC, CBSE, Maharashtra or 85% West Bengal or 95% Other State boards
  • AAA = 85% ISC, CBSE, Maharashtra or 80% West Bengal or 90% Other State boards

• Play in a commonwealth games or Olympic recognised sport
• Be classified as international for fees on your acceptance to the university.
• Be accepted to one of the physics courses for year 1 entry in 2023 after placing it as firm choice in UCAS
• English language requirements i.e IELTS 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in any band and PTE 51 in all four skills
• To renew this award in a subsequent year of study you must:
  • Hold this award in the previous academic year.
  • Achieve 60% year average at the first attempt in their previous year of study.
  • Renewal will pause for years spent in international study or intercalated study and will restart during student's return to study at in School of Physics and Astronomy at Birmingham based on the performance from the year before their year out.
  • Maintain sporting standards as judged by University of Birmingham sport.
