Scholarship Overview

The postgraduate Ambassador Scholarship is offered at Glasgow Caledonian University to those international students who can contribute their input for a common good. The Postgraduate Ambassador Scholarship covers up to £15,000 for an international student. Please note, that this amount is coverable only for tuition fees of the international student studying at Glasgow Caledonian University. Through this scholarship, the student ambassadors aim to bring positive change in the lives of people or communities at large through social innovation and teaching. 

Postgraduate Ambassador Scholarship eligibility criteria for international students include holding an unconditional offer to study at GCU, proof of financial capability to cover living costs while studying in the UK and lastly must be enrolled in a full-time taught postgraduate master’s program paying a fee for the course of study at Glasgow Caledonian University at either Glasgow or London campus. 

Application for Postgraduate Ambassador Scholarship is accepted from those applicants only who fulfil certain requirements like if they have helped less fortunate people in past and how, if any project has been set up by the applicant to help underprivileged communities, also if the applicants have volunteered.  

Applications for Postgraduate Ambassador Scholarship will be assessed based on the applicant’s overview of how they would like to foster their ideas to bring a positive impact towards the common good. Also, the applicant’s two-minute-long video expressing themselves and their contributions towards the common good are also a beneficial factor in deciding whether or not the international students are eligible to get the Postgraduate Ambassador Scholarship.

Application Process:

  • The applicant is required to fill the online application before the application deadline
  • As part of the application, the applicant will be required to submit a video of no longer than 2 minutes telling the university about yourself and how you have contributed to the common good

  • Applicants will be required to sign a consent form for video, audio, and photography with the copyright notice

Additional Information

  • Must hold an unconditional offer of study with GCU before applying or the application will be rejected
  • You must be able to cover your living costs in line with the UKVI requirements when applying for a Visa 
  • All awards are non-transferable to any other programme or academic session if you are awarded the scholarship.
  • Only applicants on a Full Time Taught Postgraduate Masters course are eligible to apply
  • Applicants will be required to sign a consent form for video, audio and photography with copyright notice.
  • Scholarships will not be deferred to any other academic session and cannot be combined with any other GCU Scholarship 
  • Students  will be required agree to the Ambassadors Charter which will be requirements that the successful applicants must undertake that are updated below:
    •  record 3 vlogs/blogs about your experience as a student of GCU 
    • at least 1 social media takeover e.g instagram live
    • be in attendance and adopt an ambassadorial role at our open days/ open afternoons for GCU London
    • 1 hour per week as a Unibuddy helping answer prospective students' questions about life at GCU
