Scholarship Overview

Bangor University offers the Postgraduate Taught International Scholarships. This one time scholarship offered by the International Students Office of Bangor University awards scholarships to degree-seeking students who have specified financial needs. Note that a large portion of the scholarship funds come from International student tuition. Postgraduate Taught International Scholarships is applicable for Masters Degree. The award is applicable for the courses like MSc Management and Finance,MBA International Business,International Marketing (MBA),Management (MBA),Finance (MBA),MBA Banking and Finance,MSc Banking and Finance,MSc Molecular Biology with Biotechnology,MSc Broadband and Optical Communications,MSc in Electronic Engineering,MSc Environmental and Business Management,MSc Psychology ,MSc Clinical and Health Psychology. If we consider the amount of the Postgraduate Taught International Scholarships, then it varies each semester. The applicants should review the scholarship application in order to fully understand the availability and amount for that particular semester. To qualify for the award, candidates must have completed the Bachelor degree and passed the 12th grade. Foreign students wishing to apply for this scholarship must take English proficiency exams such as IELTS and PTE. Students must submit the following documentation to be considered for the scholarship: LOR.

  • All outstanding international students will receive a scholarship of £3,000
  • Half of the scholarship amount will be awarded in the form of a reduction in tuition fees and the remaining half as a contribution towards the cost of University-managed accommodation
  • Students not taking up a place in university-managed accommodation will forfeit 50% of the scholarship (except in exceptional circumstances where university accommodation would not be a suitable option)
  • If the applicant is an international Bangor alumni or a member of their immediate family(spouse/siblings/children/grandchildren), who is also an international student, then they will receive an additional £1,000 discount off their tuition fees, per year of study

Eligibility

  • Applicants must hold an undergraduate 2nd Class division or equivalent in relevant disciplines and an equivalent professional qualification
  • ELP waiver- students from India will be considered for exemption from English language requirement if they provide an English “Medium of Instruction letter” (MOI) from their University, confirming the degree was taught in English
  • IELTS- overall score 6 with no element below 5.5
  • PTE- overall score 56 with no element lower than 51
  • Prerequisites required for courses:
    • MBA Banking and Finance- Applicants are required to have an honours degree or higher in a relevant discipline
    • MSc Broadband and Optical Communications- Applicant must have an Honours degree in Electronic Engineering
    • MSc in Electronic Engineering- Applicants must have a bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics or a related scientific discipline
    • MSc Clinical and Health Psychology/MSc Psychology- Applicant should have a bachelor degree in Psychology
    • Finance (MBA)-Applicants must have a bachelor degree in relevant subjects e.g. Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management), or a similar qualification
    • MSc Management and Finance/MSc Banking and Finance- Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, e.g. economics, finance, accounting or management from a university, or a similar qualification
    • International Marketing (MBA)- Applicants must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject, e.g. Business, Management, Finance from a university, or a similar qualification from any other institution
    • MSc Environmental and Business Management- Applicants normally have at least an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject like Environmental Science or Business Studies from a university, or a similar qualification
    • MSc Molecular Biology with Biotechnology- Applicant must have a honours undergraduate degree in an appropriate Biological Science subject or equivalent
  • A number of criteria will be taken into account when awarding this scholarship including Course Choice, Academic Performance, Personal Statement, Academic References, Skills and Experience, Domicile.
  • The scholarship will be awarded entirely at the University's discretion and is not guaranteed to each student.
