Scholarship Overview

President's International Scholarship of Excellence is applicable to only Bachelors courses. This is a merit based scholarship. President's International Scholarship of Excellence award up to CAD 45,000 one time to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship are 20 each year. To be eligible for this scholarship students need to appear for TOEFL, IELTS and PTE.Students must have passed 12th and to be eligible for this scholarship. All international students irrespective of their Nationality can apply for a President's International Scholarship of Excellence. If an applicant has already received a free bursary or has applied for another scholarship offered by the university, then he/she is not eligible for this scholarship. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

Eligibility

Qualification requirements:

  • Completion of one of the following:
    • All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
    • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
    • Indian School Certificate (ISC)
    • Intermediate Examination Certificate
    • Pre-University Examination Certificate
  • Grade XII graduation with minimum overall average of 60% is required to be considered for most programs - minimum 5 academic courses
  • Some programs require a higher average
  • Prerequisite courses Biology, Chemistry and Math should not be below a grade of 55%.
  • A minimum 80% (A) final admission average is required for consideration
  • This scholarship will be renewable for an additional three years of full-time study or until degree completion (whichever comes first) provided the recipient completes a minimum of 24 credits each Fall/Winter session with a minimum sessional grade point average of 6.0. 
  • Minimum 'A' average or equivalent (York factor 8 or 9) required to be considered
  • Must be an international student who is required to have a Study Permit to study in Canada
  • Must have applied to an undergraduate degree program at York that begins in Fall 2023
  • Must have applied to York directly from high school no more than two years after graduation, and have no previous university or college studies
  • English language requirements i.e TOEFL score 88, IELTS overall score 6.5 and PTE score 60
