Scholarship Overview

QS Undergraduate Scholarship is for applicants who are eager to transform the world and contribute to the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals with the help of their education. This is one of the scholarships funded by QS World Merit. QS World Merit Scholarships are jointly offered between the World Merit charity organization and Quacquarelli Symonds. This scholarship will go towards the tuition fee. The value of the QS Undergraduate Scholarship is $5,000.

Eligibility Criteria of QS Undergraduate Scholarship

In order to apply for this scholarship, the applicants are required to fulfill the eligibility conditions given below:

• The applicants must start their first year of study in the next academic year
• The applicants must be going to study at undergraduate / bachelor level
• The applicants should be going to study at a university featured in a QS ranking at any position
• The applicants must have accepted an offer from a university by the time the winner will be announced in May

Application Criteria for QS Undergraduate Scholarship

• Essay submission is required in order to apply for QS Undergraduate Scholarship
• For the submission of the essay brief, pick an SDG (Sustainable Development goals) and explain how you have or planned to contribute to achieving this goal with the help of your education
• The word limit of the essay is maximum 500 words
• The applicants can be admitted to any school on the appropriate level

Timeline for QS World Merit Undergraduate Scholarship

Two weeks after the deadline: The QS World Merit Scholarship Selection Committee targets to finish evaluating the applications and select the shortlisted candidates 2 weeks after the deadline. This is where the authority emails the shortlisted candidates and ask them to send the information about the school they have been admitted to, the start date of the program, the program they will be studying, their tuition fee amount and information on any other scholarships they have won.

Four to five weeks after the deadline: 4-5 weeks after the deadline of the scholarship, the selected winners are contacted and asked to:

• Carefully fill out and sign a winner agreement form
• Send the official authority the admissions letters from the school
• Send the account details of the school on a letter-headed document
• Send the information that needs to be mentioned on the payment like student id, name, etc
• Send a picture of themselves and their social media details

The writers and the social media team of the official authority contact the winners and then the interview is published over the authority’s social channels and websites.

Five to six weeks after the deadline: The winners are announced and their interviews are published

Application Process:

• Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the QS Scholarships Team within a two week period following the application deadline
• At this stage, applicants will be asked to provide proof that they have been accepted to study for an undergraduate degree at a university featured in a QS rankings
• Then the winners will be announced. They will be asked to: 
  • Fill out and sign a winner agreement form 
  • Send us the admissions letter from the school 
  • Send the school's account details on a letter-headed document 
  • Send any info that needs to be mentioned on the payment (eg. student ID, name) 
  • Send along a picture of themselves plus their social media
