Scholarship Overview

Robert M. Friedland Memorial Scholarship is applicable to only Bachelors only. This is a merit-based scholarship. Robert M. Friedland Memorial Scholarship award up to CAD 14000 each year to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship varies each year. The following tests must be passed by students in order to qualify for this award: TOEFL and IELTS. Academic eligibility which students need to meet is 12th. All international students irrespective of their countries can apply for a Robert M. Friedland Memorial Scholarship. Students who want to be considered for Robert M. Eligibility

• The awards are granted on the basis of academic standing
  • Candidates are required to complete a certification with excellent results in the grade 12 prerequisite requirements, with one of the following boards:
    • All India Senior School Certificate awarded by CBSE or
    • Indian School Certificate (awarded by CISCE) or
    • Year 12 State Board Exams with excellent results
    • All applicants to the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering are required to present senior level courses in:
      • Mathematics (including Calculus)
      • Physics
      • Chemistry

  • IELTS-an overall band of 6.5, with no band below 6.0.
  • PTE-an overall score of 65 with no part below 60.
  • TOEFL-a total score of 89 with 22 in each of Speaking and Writing.
  • DUOLINGO-an overall score of 120, with no subscore below 100
  • To be eligible for any scholarship or award granted solely on academic standing, a student must normally have completed not less than the normal full load (approximately 5.0 credits units) within the two sessions upon which the award is based
  • A student whose program in these two sessions contains repeated courses will only be eligible if the aggregate of new courses is equal to or greater than 5.

Preference will be given to following candidates:

• Preference is given to international students entering the first year of the Lassonde Mineral Engineering Program. If there are no suitable candidates in the program, the award can be granted to international students entering the first year of any undergraduate program in the Faculty. If there are no suitable candidates in the Faculty, the award can be granted to students entering the first year in any Faculty at the University of Toronto
