Eligibility

• take the PSAT/NMSQT in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12, regardless of grade classification or educational pattern;
• IELTS- 6.5, TOEFL- 80, PTE- 54
• To be eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Program, a student attending high school outside the United States must be a citizen of the United States; or be a U.S. lawful resident (or have applied for permanent residence, the application for which has not been denied) and intend to become a U.S. citizen at the earliest opportunity allowed by law.

Application Process for this scholarship

• English proficiency test scores
• Though not required for admission, submission of a resume of activities and letters of recommendation is encouraged.

Application instructions: 

• Complete and submit SLU’s online application for freshman admission and all required materials (transcripts, etc.) by Dec. 1. ACT/SAT test scores are not required.

• Complete the steps outlined on the NMSC website.
• List Saint Louis University as your first choice on the NMSC application.
