Scholarship for Academic Excellence- Bachelor's Program is offered by the University Canada West. To be eligible for this grant, applicants must have taken the 12th grade. Students from abroad must take English proficiency exams like TOEFL, IELTS, PTE in order to be eligible for this award.

Eligibility

Entry requirements:

  • Secondary School Applicants who have graduated from British Columbia secondary school (high school) or equivalent are required to have, at minimum, the equivalent of a BC high school (Grade 12) diploma, with an overall average of C.
  • Applicants who have not completed the equivalent of a Canadian High School (Grade 12) diploma, or who do not meet the minimum admissions requirements, maybe accepted into an undergraduate program. Such applicants must:

    • Be over twenty-one (21) years of age on or before the first day of classes
    • Have been out of high school for at least two years
    • Be approved by the Admissions Committee
  • English language requirements i.e IELTS overall score 6.5 with writing score 6.0, TOEFL overall score 88 with writing score 20 and PTE overall score 61 with 60 in writing. 
  • Award recipients are expected to act as ambassadors for UCW and participate in outreach and alumni engagement initiatives.
  • The student must commence their program before their offer for admission expires.
  • The student must not change programs
  • The student must maintain good academic standing.
  • The student must maintain a full-time enrollment status.

Application Process for this scholarship

  • An official high school transcript;
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended (if any);
  • Official proof of English proficiency (if applicable);
  • A credential evaluation from a recognized service confirming equivalency if the applicant submits a credential from an unrecognized institution or if additional analysis is required by the Admissions Committee; and
  • Where transcripts are in a language other than English, the applicant must provide a certified English translation from a certified translator on official letterhead.
  • Applicants will be automatically considered for this scholarship at the time of enrollment. A separate application is not required.

  • Applicants with conditional offers are not eligible to qualify for an award until they fulfill the conditions for full (i.e. unconditional) admission.
  • All awards are disbursed as tuition credit
  • Disbursements will commence from the second term of enrolment (excluding any terms with preparatory courses).
  • Disbursements will be pro-rated and applied equally to all remaining courses in the program.
