Scholarship Overview

Scholarship for International Baccalaureate (IB) Graduates from South Asia is awarded for pursuing Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)- Electrical Engineering,Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)- Biomedical Engineering at University of Technology, Sydney. A student can get a maximum amount of AUD 25790 and the scholarship amount will be given yearly only. The scholarship amount can be used for paying tuition. To be eligible for this scholarship students must have appeared for 12th grade. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE.

  • UTS will pay for 50% of each Recipient’s UTS tuition fees for the course enrolled in for the duration of the Scholarship
  • The maximum duration of the Scholarship is eight sessions under any program
  • The Scholarship cannot be transferred, deferred or redeemed for cash
  • Continuation of scholarship depends on the ongoing eligibility criteria set as mentioned in the 'Additional Info' section of the scholarship page

  • Up to four recipients will be awarded the Scholarship each year, for a commencement at UTS within the period of 1st of July to 30th of June

Eligibility

Applicants:

  • Must be an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and
  • Commence full-time studies on campus (Sydney). On campus studies include face-to-face and/or online (remote) learning applicable to all degrees except online degrees and distance mode degrees.; and
  • Must be completing or have completed an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma no longer than 1 year prior to commencing at UTS, and be admitted based on this qualification to UTS; and
  • Meet the UTS admission criteria for the selected UTS undergraduate degree course; and
  • Must obtain an aggregate score including bonus and penalty points of 28 or above in their International Baccalaureate (IB) final grades, or 33 or above in their International Baccalaureate predicted grades at the point the scholarship decision is made
  • English Language Proficiency:
  • IELTS- 7.5 overall, speaking 8.0, listening 8.0, reading 7.0, writing 7.0
  • TOEFL- 102-109 overall, speaking 23-27, listening 23-27, reading 23-27, writing 24
  • PTE- 73-78 overall, speaking 79, listening 79, reading 65, writing 65

Selection Criteria:

Academic merit based on International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma final results or International Baccalaureate predicted results.

Where there are multiple applicants with the same International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results, further consideration will be given to the answer to the following questions:

  • Commitment to utilise your UTS degree to make a positive contribution your home society/country, as demonstrated by the Scholarship application; and
  • Personal experience and achievement to date, including but not limited to examples of community service, innovation or entrepreneurship.
