Scholarship Overview

The Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship is a freshmen scholarship provided to support outstanding Asian students (excluding Singapore citizens). The National University of Singapore offers this scholarship. The candidates shall be shortlisted and considered for Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship for the National University of Singapore through their applications for undergraduate admission to NUS. Additionally, the shortlisted applicants shall be invited to submit a scholarship application separately.  

Eligibility Criteria for Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship for National University of Singapore

To apply for the National University of Singapore Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship, the candidates must fulfill the following things:

• Must be citizens of an Asian country or region, excluding Singapore
• Must have excellent co-curricular activities records
• Must possess outstanding high-school results
• Should have potential and strong leadership qualities
• They should be applying to a full-time undergraduate degree programme in Engineering, Computing or Science at NUS (Excluding Environmental Studies and Pharmacy)  

Application & Shortlisting Process for National University of Singapore Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship

• All eligible students who are applying for undergraduate admission to NUS shall be considered
• Applicants are going to be assessed on the basis of their suitability for the scholarship, based on the strength of their applications and / or their performance in the scholarship selection interview (s) if shortlisted
• Those who will be shortlisted for the selection interview(s) shall be informed via email. Then, the shortlisted candidates shall be required to provide a submission furnishing their co-curricular activity and other achievements, and a personal statement, prior to the interview(s)

Benefits of Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship for National University of Singapore

The benefits of the National University of Singapore Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship are given below:

• Tuition fees and compulsory fees
• S$1,750 one-time computer allowance upon enrolment
• S$6,000 annual living allowance
• S$200 one-time settling-in allowance upon enrolment
• Annual accommodation allowance equivalent to the lowest double room rate for on-campus accommodation
• One-way air passage from home country to Singapore during the beginning of the course of study and return air passage from Singapore to home country at the end of the course

Terms and Conditions for the National University of Singapore Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship

• The scholarship is tenable for the normal course duration for the undergraduate course at the National University of Singapore
• Note that the recipients of the scholarship have to serve a six-year bond with a Singapore-registered company immediately upon graduation
• The scholars are not required to hold any other scholarship, fellowship, award, bursary, grant, or allowance without prior approval from the university
• The scholarship shall be monitored and renewed every semester, provided the scholar continues to maintain a Cumulative Average Point (CAP) of at least 3.5 or equivalent and a good conduct
• Upon graduation, NUS does not guarantee and / or provide scholars with employment
• The scholars are restricted to 1 semester of overseas programmes for the entire duration of their undergraduate studies
• If the scholar takes a decision to withdraw from the university and / or terminate the scholarship prematurely, the University reserves the right to impose repayment of all scholarship money to the scholar

This scholarship is applicable for the following courses in National University of Singapore in Singapore

• B.Sc. in Physics

• The scholarship is offered to read the following full-time undergraduate programme at NUS.
  • School of Computing: Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Security, Business Analytics
  • College of Design and Engineering: Engineering majors only. This includes Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering
  • School of Computing and College of Design and Engineering: Computer Engineering
  • College of Humanities and Sciences: Science majors only (excluding Environmental Studies and Pharmacy). This includes Chemistry, Data Science and Analytics, Data Science and Economics, Food Science and Technology, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Science, Physics, Quantitative Finance, and Statistics

Max scholarship per student: SGD 29,787 => Rs 18,51,560

Conversion rate used: 1 SGD = Rs. 62.16 (last updated 23rd July 2024)

  • Have completed Indian Standard 12 (CBSE/ISCE/State and other boards) with a good pass in 5 subjects including English
  • Year 12 or higher level pass in Mathematics
  • Be citizens of an Asian country, excluding Singapore
  • Have strong leadership qualities and potential
  • Present excellent co-curricular activities records
  • Possess outstanding high school results
  • SAT is required with certain conditions:
    • Evidence-Based Reading and Writing-600, and 650 for Mathematics
    • Applicants are required to submit 3 subject tests as follows:
      • Mathematics Level 2 is a compulsory subject for all courses
      • A second subject of their choice (excluding Mathematics Level 1)
      • A third subject of their choice (excluding Mathematics Level 1)
  • Recipients of the scholarship (scholars) are required to serve a six-year bond with a Singapore-registered company immediately upon graduation

Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. No separate application is needed.
