SFU Joseph Lee Family Award for First Generation Learners is aimed at providing support to outstanding students entering or enrolled in the Bachelor in Electronics Engineering,Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science (Honours),Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science,BSc in Computing Science Honours,Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in Canada. This award can be awarded to Multiple candidates. This scholarship can be used primarily towards tuition. University offers the merit-based as well as need-based scholarship which amounts to CAD 5000 and offered on a yearly basis. To be eligible for the SFU Joseph Lee Family Award for First Generation Learners at Simon Fraser University in Canada applicants would be required to have passed : 12th and Undergraduate degree .

Eligibility

• The award will be granted annually to undergraduate students who meet the following criteria:
  • are pursuing a bachelor's degree at SFU;
  • are enrolled full-time in the term of eligibility;
  • are in good academic standing;
  • have made contributions to the well-being of their local, provincial, or national community; and
  • whose parents have never completed post-secondary education at an institution anywhere in the world

Application Process for this scholarship

• Students will be considered automatically
• Applications should include:
  • A statement from the applicant outlining the importance of being a member of the first generation of their immediate family to pursue a post-secondary degree; and,
  • A statement from the applicant outlining the applicant's community/volunteer involvement;
  • at least one letter of reference from someone who can verify the community/volunteer service and the impact of the applicant's role in that service
