Scholarship Overview

Sherrill Cheda Graduate Scholarship is applicable to only Masters courses. This is a merit as well as need based scholarship. Sherrill Cheda Graduate Scholarship award up to CAD 8,000 one time to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship are 2 each year. All international students irrespective of their Nationality can apply for a Sherrill Cheda Graduate Scholarship. If an applicant has already received a free bursary or has applied for another scholarship offered by the university, then he/she is not eligible for this scholarship. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

• To be eligible for this award, applicants must be:
  • Full-time registered Master's or doctoral York graduate student;
  • Must be an incoming student;
  • Both domestic and international students are eligible;
  • Selection criteria includes:
    • Research in current issues facing women;
    • Academic accomplishments;
    • Financial need;
    • Demonstrated academic excellence.
