Scholarship Overview

SHL Inspire Scholarship - Papa Tschopp Scholarship is offered by the SHL Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern . SHL Inspire Scholarship - Papa Tschopp Scholarship is awarded to Bachelors Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Merit Based scholarship will be given on a yearly basis. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is Swiss Franc 12000. Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship. To be eligible for this grant, applicants must have taken the 12th grade. International students seeing to avail this scholarship need to appear for English proficiency tests like TOEFL and IELTS. As part of the selection process, students must attend an interview. Students must submit the following documentation to be considered for the scholarship: LOR.

• Successful SHL Inspire candidates will be awarded a scholarship for the 3 academic years of the program and successful completion of the BSc in Hospitality Management degree
• The first installment of the scholarship coincides with the start of the BSc class in September or February and is be paid per semester
• Award period: 2021 – 2025

Eligibility

• The SHL Inspire Scholarship Programme supports exceptional and inspiring young people
• Applicants will be interviewed for 40 minute
• Applicants must demonstrate outstanding passion and flair for the hotel and hospitality industry, as well as their aspiration to become inspiring leaders
• The following points will be considered:
  • Academic and extra-curricular achievements
  • Any previous hospitality work experience is a plus
  • Level of quality of the submitted presentation and interview, as well as the content of the recommendation letters 
• One-day hospitality experience with an industry leader is required

  • Complete online BSc Application
  • The following tasks must be completed and submitted with the application:
    • Conduct a 40-minute interview with an industry professional and write a two-page summary
    • Record a 10-minute presentation in front of friends or classmates, upload the recording to an online platform of your choice and provide an available link SHL Inspire Scholarship Candidate Profile
    • Arrange for a letter of recommendation from the applicant's school
    • Arrange for a letter of recommendation from someone in the hotel or hospitality industry
