Scholarship Overview

South Asia Regional Scholarship is offered by the University of Essex to international students. South Asia Regional Scholarship is available for students from any country who want to study Bachelors Degree in the UK at the University of Essex. Every year, the university selects a certain number of candidates from all the received applications and offers them scholarships based on their academic profiles. The maximum scholarship that a student can receive is GBP 4000 at University of Essex. The fee needs to be paid in full, the scholarship amount will be given to students once they start their study program.

South Asia Regional Scholarship is available for the Bachelors Degree. We have listed below the Bachelors Degree Programmes of University of Essex that are eligible for the scholarship:
• BSc Banking and Finance,BSc Business Management,BA in Business Economics,BA in Business Management and Language Studies,BA in Business Management and Modern Languages etc as given below Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship. The following documentation is required from students in order to apply for the scholarship:
LOR and Official Transcripts.

Eligibility

  • Students must be ordinarily resident in one of the countries specified:-
    • Afghanistan; Bangladesh; Bhutan; India; Maldives; Nepal; Pakistan; Sri Lanka
  • Applicants must be overseas fee payers and are entirely self-funded
  • Students must register for the first year (Year1) of a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Essex

  • Documents required for admission application:-
    • Official transcripts
    • Proof of english language proficiency scores
    • Personal statement is required with the following guidelines:
      • It should be written in English
      • Maximum limit is between 1,000 and 4,000 characters or a maximum of 47 lines of text (including spaces and blank lines) 
      • It is strongly recommended to write the statement using a word-processing package such as MS-Word and then paste it in the space provided
      • Use italics, bold or underlining in the personal statement is restricted
    • A written recommendation from a teacher, adviser or professional who knows the applicant academically

Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. No separate application is needed.

Additional Information

  • Applicants that become firm with Essex through rejection by their original firm choice selection elsewhere are not eligible
  • Only one scholarship award can be made per student and the award cannot be held in conjunction with any other University of Essex scholarships
  • This scholarship is available for the first year of study only
  • Successful applicants should be available for promotional activities
  • The award cannot be held in conjunction with any other University of Essex scholarships
  • The following students are NOT eligible for this scholarship regardless of meeting the above criteria:
    • Students undertaking courses at East 15 Acting School
    • University of Essex International College (UEIC) Pathway students progressing from the International Year One
    • Students undertaking a programme of study normally delivered fully online
    • Students who are not ordinarily resident in one of the listed countries
    • This scholarship award does not apply to deferred entry. Where a scholarship has been awarded to a student who subsequently defers entry to the following academic year, the award will be withdrawn and the applicant will be considered again in line with the terms and conditions that apply in the new proposed year of entry
    • Applicants entering the second and third year
    • Students who are fully or partly sponsored
    • Students who are assessed as Home fee payer
    • Current students whose first year of undergraduate study at the University of Essex, was prior to academic year 2025-26
