Scholarship Overview

Steffensen Cannon Scholarship is offered by the The University of Utah. This scholarship is for pursuing a Bachelors Degree, The Steffensen Cannon Scholarship is given one-time to a multiple students each year. This scholarship awards a maximum of USD 10000 per student and is used to cover tuition. Under this scholarship some students get their full tuition fee waived. To be eligible for this scholarship: In English language proficiency, an applicant must have an overall TOEFL score of 100 with a minimum of 20 in each section.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in college of humanities undergraduate program
• This award enables University of Utah students to pursue excellence in their chosen fields of Education and Humanities, without the burden of employment.
• Incoming freshman are also eligible for this scholarship 
• Incoming students must be applying and admitted in one the college of humanities undergraduate program. 

Application Process for this scholarship

• Submit  Steffensen Cannon Application
• Upload CV or resume
• Personal statement of a 1000 words or less describing general activities, intellectual interests, proposed course of study, academic achievements, and leadership and community experiences.
• Incoming freshmen who are applying for the undergraduate scholarship must upload official transcripts from all high schools attended.
• Letters of Recommendation (2 Required)
• Undergraduate students must upload official transcripts of all college and university work. If applying for a scholarship renewal, a copy of the previous semester’s academic grades is satisfactory.
• (Optional) If an applicant is a descendant, upload a statement showing the direct lineage to Ellen Christina Steffensen Cannon.
• If a direct descendant wishes to claim financial need, please have a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) processed.
• (Optional) For renewal applicants only - Please provide a brief statement describing the impact of the award on your education and research thus far, and updating the Committee on your progress over the past year.
