Scholarship Overview

The Adrienne and Donna Pocock Memorial Award is applicable to only Masters courses. This is a merit based scholarship. The Adrienne and Donna Pocock Memorial Award award up to CAD 4,000 one time to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship are 2 each year. All international students irrespective of their Nationality can apply for a The Adrienne and Donna Pocock Memorial Award. If an applicant has already received a free bursary or has applied for another scholarship offered by the university, then he/she is not eligible for this scholarship. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be currently registered in the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change at York University.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• This award is intended for students whose work incorporates consideration of Canada, children, animals or aboriginal issues in relationship to the environment. Applicants will be judged based on the quality of their fieldwork proposal, including objective(s), deliverables, scope, and potential contribution towards environmental research and/or issues more broadly.

• Step 1: Complete the Office of Student and Financial Services' Student Financial Profile (SFP) When you visit the SFP website, please select APPLY NOW to complete your submission.
• Step Two: Prepare a 1-2-page description of proposed fieldwork activity by including a detailed budget, timeline and explanation of how the funds will be used.
• Step Three: Contact your supervisor to request a reference for this award. They must submit this Reference Assessment Form to complete your application. Be sure to inform of them of the name of award you are requesting a reference for and its deadline. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
• Step Four: Complete the application form by April 19
