Scholarship Overview

The Dennis R. Prince Memorial Scholarship at the Memorial University of Newfoundland are designed to provide financial assistance to talented students from all over the world who wish to pursue their studies. This Merit Based scholarship covers tuition of candidates. This is a Merit Based scholarship offering 2000 CAD majorly covering the tuition. This scholarship offers to contribute towards the course. The number of awards offered is 1 each year. There are several eligibility criteria for the scholarships. For instance, Candidates should also have significant professional experience and good leadership qualities. All applicants must have successfully earned an accredited undergraduate degree.

Eligibility

• Awarded annually to a student enrolled full-time in the Department of Earth Sciences who is specializing in mineral exploration and development at Memorial University
• The qualified student must demonstrate scholarship standing, strong personal values inlcuding a strong work ethic and high personal integrity
• If there is no qualified undergraduate student available, this award will be awarded to a graduate student
• Active participation and leadership in geological associations and activities such as The Alexander Murray Geology Club and the Geological Association of Canada may be taken into consideration as well as financial need.

Application Process for this scholarship

Application process: 

• Students must apply and submit an application to the Department of Earth Sciences. If awarded to a graduate student, a recommendation will be forwarded to the Dean of Graduate Studies.
