Scholarship Overview

The Faculty of Humanities Entrance Awards are awarded by the McMaster University, which supports students in its academics and research pursuits. The Faculty of Humanities Entrance Awards includes a one time award of up to CAD 5000, which can be used for the purpose of tuition payment only. The scholarship does not include other expenses such as accommodation, living expenses, travel expenses, etc. McMaster University usually looks for candidates with a holistic profile, and not just academic excellence. This scholarship is available to students from all countries. As for the academic eligibility criteria, candidates are expected to have 12th that can prove an academically excellent background. Students also need to appear for the following exams: TOEFL, IELTS and PTE.

Eligibility

Qualification requirements:

• Applicants must have passed high school 
• Hold all India Senior School Certificate awarded by CBSE / Indian School Certificate awarded by CISCE.
• Must be an incoming high school students entering McMaster’s Humanities I, iArts (Integrated Arts) or Music program with a minimum admission average set by the Faculty.
• Must be an international visa student, currently studying at a high school and entering Level 1 of their first baccalaureate degree program.
• English language requirements: 
  • IELTS- 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening)
  • TOEFL- 86 overall with a minimum score of 20 in each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening)
  • PTE- 60 overall with minimum score of 60 in Writing and Speaking
