The Gerald Carrothers Graduate Scholarship is applicable to only Masters courses. This is a merit based scholarship. The Gerald Carrothers Graduate Scholarship award up to CAD 2,500 one time to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship are 2 each year. All international students irrespective of their Nationality can apply for a The Gerald Carrothers Graduate Scholarship. If an applicant has already received a free bursary or has applied for another scholarship offered by the university, then he/she is not eligible for this scholarship. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships.

Eligibility

Qualification requirements:

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in MES program in the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change
• Applicants must demonstrate that their MES research methods and values complement the values on which the Faculty was established under the leadership of Gerald Carrothers
• Applicants should display a strong command of the ‘plan of study’ indicating they are well prepared to enter the final (research) phase of their MES program.
• Applicants’ proposed research must take a transdisciplinary approach – reflecting on Carrothers’ desire to create a different learning model which encourages students to pursue studies that cross disciplinary boundaries.
• Applicants’ work should have the goal of encouraging transformational change.

Application Process for this scholarship

How to apply: 

• Step One: Prepare a one-page summary of your current Plan of Study with your proposal.  On the application you will be prompted to upload your Plan of Study summary and your approved research proposal.
• Step Two: Complete the scholarship application by April 19
