Scholarship Overview

The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India Scholarships- University of Oxford is awarded for pursuing BM BCh Medicine,BFA in Fine Art,BA in Philosophy and Modern Languages,MSc in Law and Finance,MBA,MSc in Financial Economics etc as given below at University of Oxford. A student can get a maximum amount of INR 200000 and the scholarship amount will be given one time only. The scholarship amount can be used for paying tuition. While it is an eligibility requirement for the candidate to have graduated from a university/school in India, there is an added preference that the final years of schooling should also have been completed from India. Therefore, students who have already studied abroad would be at a significant disadvantage for the OCSI scholarship program. To be eligible for the award, applicants must have completed their 12th grade and also possess a Bachelor degree. As part of the selection process, students must attend an interview.

  • OCSI of India is offering a scholarship in academic years 2021-20211: 
    • OCSI scholarship(s) worth INR 200,000 (Rupees Two Lacs) each of the following two scholarships: OCSI K.K. Luthra Memorial Scholarship and OCSI Anita Banerji Memorial Scholarship, tenable at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford.
    • Four further OCSI scholarships worth INR 200,000 (Rupees Two Lacs) each tenable at either the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge
    • One scholarship worth INR 100,000 (Rupees One Lac) tenable only at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, from Emmanuel College Cambridge (India) Trust.
    • One scholarship worth INR 100,000 (Rupees One Lac) tenable only at St. Hilda’s College, Oxford, from Ritika Dhamija.
  • Each year we seek to raise funds and receive other grants that become available by June each year. Candidates will be eligible for any such additional grants as well.

Eligibility

  • Must be a citizen of India
  • Must be ordinarily resident in India
  • Must be not more than 30 years of age on 1 September of the year of application for the award
  • Must be a graduate of an Indian university if applying to a second undergraduate or for a post graduate course (applicants who are expected to graduate in the year of the award are also eligible to apply for the awards), or be from a school in India if applying for an undergraduate course.
  • Must have applied for and secured admission to study a full-time course at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford. Candidates are required to present proof of admission before grant of the scholarship, and proof of having taken up residence at Cambridge or Oxford before the scholarships funds are released.
  • Must intend to pursue a course of study that is one of the following:
    • Research leading to the PhD degree
    • One-year post-graduate courses (e.g. MPhil, LLM, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE etc.)
    • Taught and research based Masters programmes of various durations (including M. Sc., engineering, medicine)
    • Second Bachelors degree as an Affiliated Student/Senior Status
    • Bachelors degree programme
  • Must be admitted to the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford through the University’s normal academic procedures. OCSI cannot admit students or assist in this process.

Preference will be given to following candidates:

  • While it is an eligibility requirement for the candidate to have graduated from a university/school in India, there is an added preference that the final years of schooling should also have been completed from India.     • Complimentary life membership of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India
    • Mentoring, whereby a member of OCSI shall play the role of a mentor and will support the OCSI scholar during his/her stay at Oxford/Cambridge by giving appropriate guidance to the awardee. It shall be the endeavor of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India to identify a mentor who shares some interests with the OCSI scholar
  • Candidates must also be aware of the responsibilities that being awarded a prestigious, part-cost scholarship at one of the world’s leading universities (Cambridge or Oxford) brings. There is an expectation that OCSI Scholars will use the education they gain at Cambridge to become leaders in their field and give back to society in ways that they are best placed to do so. There is an expectation that OCSI Scholars will return to India in a reasonable time frame after completing their course of study at Cambridge
