Scholarship Overview

UMBC General Merit Scholarships is applicable to only Bachelors Degree students. This is a Merit Based scholarship. UMBC General Merit Scholarships award up to USD 12000 on a one time basis to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship Varies depending upon the university each year. Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship. International students seeing to avail this scholarship need to appear for English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS . All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships

Eligibility

• Applicants must have a high school diploma or its equivalent and have strong marks
• Subject required :-
  
  • English
  • Mathematics (including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II)
  • Social Science/History
  • Science
  • Language other than English
• Recommended scores:
  • TOEFL -80 
  • IELTS -  6.5
  • Duolingo - 105
• SAT or ACT scores (if provided)
• Merit scholarship recipients must maintain:
  • minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average
  • register for and successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per fall and spring semesters; not including audited courses

Application Process for this scholarship

• An official or attested copy of current high school transcript/academic record including an English translation
• Official results of the completion of state/national secondary school examinations
• A final high school transcript/leaving certificate upon completion of senior year
• Official test scores
• A photocopy of passport
• Funding Documents

Application Process:-

• General merit scholarships do not require a separate application
• Prospective incoming freshmen will be automatically reviewed for a merit scholarship provided timely application for admission
