University of Exeter- Commonwealth Shares Scholarship Scheme is offered by the University of Exeter. This scholarship is for pursuing a Masters Degree, The University of Exeter- Commonwealth Shares Scholarship Scheme is given one-time to a multiple students each year. This scholarship awards a maximum of GBP 26000 per student and is used to cover tuition. Under this scholarship some students get their full tuition fee waived. To qualify for the award, candidates must have completed the Bachelor degree and passed the 12th grade. Students from abroad must take English proficiency exams like IELTS, PTE in order to be eligible for this award.

Eligibility

To apply for these scholarships, candidates must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Be available to start their academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year
  • hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree (2:2) and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree)
  • Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high-income country
  • Be unable to afford to study in the UK university without this Scholarship
  • Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format
  • All applicants are considered individually on merit although we usually require a 2:1 honours degree.
  • No specific subjects are required.
  • The programme has been designed to allow students from a wide range of backgrounds to immerse themselves in a transformative educational experience. No science, mathematics, or engineering prerequisites are required.

English language requirements-

  • IELTS 6.5 overall and no less than 6 in any other section and PTE 67 with no less than 64 in all communicative skills

Application Process for this scholarship

  • Candidates should apply - by the published deadline - for both:

    • the scholarship itself - via the CSC's online application system; and
    • your chosen Masters programme from the list above - online via the programme webpage. 
  • Candidates must apply and secure admission to study an approved Master’s course at a participating UK university in addition to applying for a Commonwealth Shared Scholarship via the CSC’s online application system
  • Candidates must upload the following with their application:

    • Proof that the applicant is a citizen or has refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country: a copy of a valid passport (or national ID card) showing a photograph, date of birth, and country of citizenship
    • Full transcripts detailing all higher education qualifications, including to-date transcripts for any courses currently being studied, with certified translations if not in English
