Scholarship Overview

UR Scholars Entrance Scholarship is offered by the University of Regina to international students. UR Scholars Entrance Scholarship is available for students from all countries who want to study Masters Degree in the Canada at the University of Regina. Every year, the university selects 4 candidates from all the received applications and offers them scholarships based on their academic profiles. The maximum scholarship that a student can receive is depends upon the university at University of Regina. The fee needs to be paid in full, the scholarship amount will be given to students once they start their study program.

UR Scholars Entrance Scholarship is available for the Masters Degree. We have listed below the Masters Degree Programmes of University of Regina that are eligible for the scholarship:

• MSc in Physics,M.Sc in Biochemistry,MASc in Petroleum Systems Engineering,M.Sc in Computer Science (Thesis route),M.Sc in Mathematics,M.Sc in Psychology,M.Sc in Biology,Master of Administration in Leadership etc as given below.

• Each UR Scholars Entrance Scholarship may cover full tuition and associated fees for up to 3 years for a PhD student and up to 2 years for a Masters student, provided they continue to be fully eligible each semester while holding the award
• Students must hold a minimum GPA of 85% in order to renew in their second or third year and continue to be otherwise fully eligible

Student Awards

Number of students to be awarded: 4

• There will be 2 PhD awards each year (1 International and 1 Domestic student)
• There will be 2 Masters awards each year (1 International and 1 Domestic student)

Scholarship Eligibility

No specific eligibility requirement mentioned on the Scholarship site, student profile will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Special Restrictions

• Must be nominated by an Institute faculty

• Nominations for this award are made by each faculty, to FGSR

Eligibility

• Holders of these awards are required to be a thesis based, fully-qualified graduate student. This includes MAP’s - MFA & PhD Thesis Project (Research Creation) students
• Awardees must also be an entering student (be in their first semester) in any
  discipline, in a Master's or Doctoral degree program
• Master’s & PhD students must have a minimum of a first class average (equivalent to a minimum of 80% at the University of Regina) when they enter their program and must show continued scholarly promise

Application Process for this scholarship

• No application is required
• Each Faculty may nominate 1 Masters and 1 PhD student to FGSR by confirming full eligibility, as described in the Terms of Reference
