Eligibility

  • To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
    • Remain an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and
    • Be a citizen from Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Mongolia, South Korea, Taiwan, or a country in the Africa, Central Asia, Latin America, South Asia, or South East Asia region; and
    • Commence full-time studies and on campus at UTS in 2023 or 2024; and
    • Meet UTS admission criteria for the selected UTS Business School, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, UTS Science, Faculty of Law, TD School or the Faculty of Engineering and IT Master degree by coursework program; and
  • Must not:
    • be studying a UTS online degree or distance mode degree; or
    • be based in Australia (must be based offshore) prior to commencement at UTS; or
    • be a recipient of other UTS International scholarships or grants or the UTS Alumni Advantage Program for the duration of this Scholarship; and be a government sponsored student

  • Selection process
    • Acceptance of the selected UTS Business School, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, UTS Science, Faculty of Law, TD School or the Faculty of Engineering and IT degree by coursework program (including payment of deposit required)
  • On campus studies include face-to-face and/or online (remote) learning in all degrees except online degrees and distance mode degrees
  • How to apply
    • UTS Future Learner Recruitment and Admissions will automatically consider all commencing international students applying for a Master degree by coursework program at UTS Business School, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Science, Faculty of Law, TD School or Faculty of Engineering and IT in Sydney for this Scholarship
  • Offers will be authorised by UTS Future Learner Recruitment and Admissions
  • TERMINATION OF RECIPIENT’S SCHOLARSHIP
    • The Scholarship will terminate: 
      • If the Recipient ceases to meet the eligibility criteria; or
      • If the Recipient breaches any conditions of the Scholarship;
      • If UTS determines that the student is guilty of misconduct and after consultation with the Director, Student Administration the delegate able to award the Scholarship deems that it is not appropriate for the Recipient to continue to hold the Scholarship
      • If the Scholarship is terminated due to breaching any conditions or misconduct, the Recipient may be required to reimburse UTS for the total benefit at the time of termination
  • Other obligations and conditions 
    • The offer of the Scholarship is made subject to information provided by the Recipient being true and accurate
    • By accepting the offer of the Scholarship, each Recipient agrees to the Conditions of Award
    • Recipients must comply with all of the University’s rules, policies and procedures including those relating to conduct
    • For the duration of the Scholarship the Recipient is not permitted to hold other UTS Scholarships that will total more than 100% of the value of their tuition fees
    • The Recipient is responsible for advising UTS Scholarships of any changes in circumstances that would make them ineligible for continuation of the Scholarship, including but not limited to taking Leave of Absence or deferring study, changing their international student visa status to other visa categories, including but not limited to Permanent Residency visa
    • If the Recipient obtains Permanent Residency status, the Scholarship will be terminated as outlined below o For Recipients obtaining Permanent Residency before the census date in any session, the Scholarship will be terminated and any Scholarship payment already made for that session will be reversed. o For Recipients obtaining their Permanent Residency after census date in any session, the Scholarship will be terminated the following session
    • The Recipient will be responsible for any study costs incurred outside UTS tuition fees, including payment of the Student Services and Amenities Fee
    • Any changes to the Recipient’s circumstances not addressed by these Conditions of Award will be considered by UTS International on a case-by-case basis
    • The Recipient does not need to re-apply for the Scholarship each year
    • The recipient may be invited to consent to allowing their name, photograph and/or short article to be used for the promotion of UTS
