Scholarship Overview

The International Student Award helps to foster a diverse student community and enables more students from different nationalities to pursue their study and career goals with UWA.

Purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and assist students from eligible countries to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at the University.

Eligibility for this scholarship:

  • Must hold following certificates or diploma (for undergraduate programme)  
  • Must hold bachelor's degree from a recognsied university (for postgraduate)
  • Must meet any course specific requirements if mentioned
  • Be citizen from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand or Vietnam
  • Applying to The University of Western Australia as an international student on an Australian student visa
  • Studying an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course offered by the University and published in the UWA Handbook
  • Enrolled to study a full-time course load
  • Must meet english language requirements:e)

Additional Information

Criteria for continuation:

The recipient must:

  • continue to meet the eligibility requirements in clause 9.2 of these conditions; 
  • make satisfactory progress in accordance with the rule for the course for which the scholarship is award;
  • maintain a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60 in the course for which the scholarship is awarded; and 
  • normally confirm twice annually, in the manner and by the dates specified by the University, that they continue to meet the eligibility requirements of the scholarship.

Other conditions:

  • The offer of the scholarship must be accepted within 30 days of the offer being made
  • The offer of the scholarship may be withdrawn at the University’s discretion if the scholarship is not accepted by the date specified in the letter of offer
